Sachiko Hasegawa is the mother of Utsutsu and Yume Hasegawa. She was married to Shiro Onijima, but they separated after she was institutionalized.

History[]
A year after Utsutsu Hasegawa was born, Sachiko was pregnant with Yume Hasegawa and she was rather aware that she was going to give birth to a real monster. When Sachiko was pregnant with Yume, she would get sharp pains in her stomach and she was afraid that if she did not abort her something bad will happen to Utsutsu. Sachiko was terrified of Yume when she was a baby. She felt that Yume was watching her every move, which led her to become somewhat insane.
Sachiko has gotten to the point where she attempted to kill Yume, but she failed because Yume can't even die... She is also seen being very protective over Utsutsu whenever he tries to get close to Yume as a baby, when shown in the anime episode 5. Also, it's shown that Sachiko enjoys being hit by Shiro Onijima because it lets her know what reality is.
In th end, after Utsutsu and Yume dissolve into butterflies, Sachiko and Bizen watch the scenery from the hospital window.
